one of the worst things a person can go through, is the pain of having been passing a kidney stone. I know that for me personally, when I had my first kidney stone it was not only a very painful experience but it was frightening as well. This is partly because I did not know what was happening, and the pain was so intense that I really was not in a position to look up any information wanted at that time anyway. Although I was able to pass the stone on my own, without any medical help, I know many people that have ended up in the hospital for as long as a week at a time trying to pass a kidney stone that was too large to pass on its own. Prevention is the best medicine in the case of kidney stones, and you certainly can do many things in order to be able to keep yourself free from having stones in the future, if that doesn't do much good if you are dealing with a kidney stone pain right now. Dissolving a kidney stone quickly is really the only option you are dealing with that type of pain.

One thing that I have read many times over is that it is important to get your urine acidic. This can be done in many different ways, but mainly it is important to make sure that you eat acidic foods and drink liquids that are leaning towards acidic, such as lemons, in order to reach that goal. You could try doing something like mixing one part olive oil to one part lemon juice and drinking an ounce or two of it at a time. Make sure that after you drink this mixture that you drink a glass of water to follow it up. If the pain persists, then it may be necessary to seek some kind of medical attention in order to either help you with pain management, or to be able to help you to pass the stone.
